Hey, guys, I have a 07 550i and got as a gift a newly rebuilt V1 Vortech supercharger kit(almost complete) but for an e36 M3(The one you get from Dinan). My question is it worth trying to put together a 550i kit from that one or should I just sell it? Thank you.
Anybody?
I don't think you'd be able to use that kit without a lot of fabrication. Honestly I don't know much at all about the kits, but trying to adapt one from an I6 to a V8 doesn't even sound feasible. Maybe someone makes and sells the mounting brackets individually and you could just use the supercharger itself?

Sell the E36 kit. Nothing from it except the blower would work and as far as I know you cannot buy a 550i supercharger kit, let alone individual kit parts. ESS, AA, VFE don't sell one. I don't think Gintani does. Maybe GPower?
Maybe sell the 550i and buy an M5? Or move up a generation to one of the newer F10 V8 turbos. Much easier to start with forced induction than to add it. An E60 535i with N54 twin turbo motor and some bolt on parts and a tune would outrun your 550i, but one of the newer twin turbo V8s would be even faster.
