Question Will K+DCAN USB Interface Work on An Audi A5 Vagcom

    Hello all,

Hello again it's been a while since I sold my 2001 E46 was easily diagnosed through Inpa and DIS 44 and 57 with no problems (when I joined pins 7 and 8)

I recently purchased an 2010 Audi A5 1.8TFSI Coupe, and would like to be able to diagnose, view error codes and be able to delete error codes.

    I have 4 questions:

1- Will K+D Can OBDII 16 pin USB cable interface work with Vagcom ?

2- Is Vag409 KKL usb obdII cable interface same as K+Dcan ?

3- Some sellers sell this KKL cable interface with either FT232RL or FT232BL chips? Which is better?

4- Can any of you help me with Vagcom software, so I can download and get it run as DIS in the past?

    Many thanks in advance,

    Cheers

Yes it will work, only with VCDS Lite.

And, secondly: When I use the VCSS Lite will I need to join the 7th and 8th pins to be able to reach to the airbag abs central locking and other communication modules as in E46?

Sorry, I made a small mistake, VCDS Lite is good for pre CANBUS VWs, older than 2007. Your Audi uses CAN and UDS protocols.

To reach E46 all modules, you must bridge pins 7&8, (but this disables the cable's CAN functionality, for newer cars)

I was using a temporary wire at my E46. E46 is gone now. I would like to be able to diagnose 2010 Audi A5.

So what can be answers for my 4 questions at my first message please?

As I understand, there is no 3rd party interface work with Vag Com which is downloaded from Ross Tech. They work with modified Vag Com software and most have reliability issues.

To purcase the original Ross Tech Vag Com for 199 dollars which allows you to scan only max 3 cars, is the silliest thing to do as it is waste of money.

I think I will go with OBD Eleven which is relatively cheaper than original vag com, and at least it s not a third party modified Chinese made product. If I dont like it I will return it.
