Purchased a certified pre-owned 2015 M235i yesterday (warranty lasts until March 2021 or 100K miles). 28K existing miles. Car was listed for sale in late October 2016.
Under service record, I remember seeing they had replaced the engine wiring harness (I think around 14k miles) and outside temp sensor (I think around 8k miles).
Should I be watching out for potential future failure of these parts? Is it a red flag at all for other issues that might crop up?
First time BMW owner so appreciate the patience. Thanks!
It could be anything. I dont work at a BMW dealer but i work for a lux brand. I have replaced harnesses for rodents before. Sometimes rather that a repair an insurance company will request an entire harness. Also if there was an internal harness issue that required a new wire the may have chose to do a harness rather than an overlay. Personally i would not be worried.
