How do I handle the dual pane windows? Can I tint them? Is that a no-no? The glaze is already on them but you can see in them. Is there away to eliminate that. I love the double pane glass, I can't hear anything outside the car ever.
I heard that on hot direct sunlight days you can cook the inside of dual pane glass so people that want tint put it on the outside.
I saw that, I'll ask the window guy. Maybe there is an exterior film that is durable. I haven't seen a Double pane with the tint yet though.
I got some double-pane glass out of a 96 750il at a pull a part that had tint on it and the glass was fine. I don't know if the car was garaged its whole life or not, but the glass all looked perfect. I thought it was only the break resistant glass that had the delamination problems.

Just don't tint them with that shitty purple stuff that eventually corrodes in direct sunlight. Years ago when I had my 323i 2000 (E46) I found a very cheap 7 series someone was selling on the side of the road. It was actually a bit more than $6k, and in worse shape than my current 740i sport i bought for $5k, but it was the cheapest 7 series I saw at the time.
Apart from some damage to the front bumper, missing the fog lights and had a destroyed phone setup in the center console, the biggest issue I had was that it was tinted with that cheap-ass shit that (at the time I was looking at it) had these holes in the tint. No damage to the window, just weird holes in the tint as if the sun cooked it (like you said). I've seen other older cars with much better and nicer tint that wasn't purple in hue (this stuff was) so I think they cheaped out on the tinting and got a crappy tint job, which eventually fell out or burned in the sun, and made it look like one of those $2k cars beaters people in lower income areas love to put $500 mufflers on and destroy the camb so badly the wheels are practically at 35 degree angles!
If you have the protection dual pane that have the thick transparent foil on the inside - if you tint those they will start to delaminate.
BUT if you have those it is 100% certain they already are delaminated.
If you have the normal dual pane - there should be no issues tinting it.
I had the first and found a normal dual pane and swapped them and tinted them - and no problems.
I heard several peeps tinting the outside part of the dual panes, helped prevent delamination

My 750il has window tint on the inside of its double glazed windows. It is so much better than before i had them tinted. The tint has been on there for a couple years and no issues to report. I daily drove it too. The window tint guy spent 4 hours on it as the tint wont stick to the black band around the edge of the window and he had to carefully cut the tint just right.
