I'm thinking about turbocharging my e36 and need to find a proper way to tune my car I was thinking about the Miller war chip turbo tune set up has anyone use this and how well does it work for a base tune not to much boost just drivability till I can get a set of s52 cams
I have been considering turbo as well. Not sure if you plan to build yourself or go with a kit. I priced all the parts out, honestly the kits with tune seems to be the best bang for the $ when you include the hassel of DIY. Or wait til one pops up with a tune. My $.02
The miller stuff does not get good marks. I've not used their bmw product but I saw their Audi product in action driving a tuner nuts with what crap it was to work with. I wouldn't touch it.

Miller war chip requires a conputer with usb1.0 to program it and you'll pretty much need a dyno to get your tune right. How do i know? Because i know the guys at brakim racing and they use one in their rally e36.

ZOMG rewuires USB 1.0. Well. That must be the big hurdle.

Since you're in Troy, go to Bradley Motor Werke. In St. Louis/Ferguson. He'll be able to give you some great advice.

I've been to Bradley motorwerkes he's told me people have mixed feeling that sometimes it's good others it's not worth it it's just based on the applications. All I want is to get a small amount of boost to start out with just wanna have fun nothing real serious drag strip here and there drift event etc just looking to make new friends and have fun do so
I spent 2 years with it. In the end I had flat line AFR's and it was reliable. I could make changes very easily but only because I knew what not to do. It takes awhile to get a feel for it and the first problem is you dont know which cell to change from a log until you get a feel for the slope of your map sensor. you can create an excel spreadsheet to take the guess work out but it takes awhile to understand.
Miller support was awesome.
it will run with the default tune but not in boost.
bottom line is it works. But you will get pissed and have frustration until a couple light bulbs come on for you.
Thank you very much will do
