Hey everybody this is my first post mainly because I really need the advice on whether or not to buy a AA supercharger kit. long story short... I want to throw a AA e36 M3 level 2 kit with upgrade (has the inter cooler) on my e36 323is? I know i can put it on but would I be able to get a tuner to throw a reliable tune on my OBD2 323is?
i know 323is has high compression I guess I could lower it via head gasket. I'm willing and able to do this if I have to, but will i have to?
Yes, i drive a 323is and yes I know I can just buy an M3 and start from there..... Honestly, with all the work I've done on handling I'd be going back a few steps buying an M3. I like making my 323is fast and one day i'll prob build the engine on it and stroke it out.. Something about a FI 400+hp 323is with the original block makes me grin.. An original block e36 323is with 400whp, that has to be rare! Plus my insurance is dirt cheep!!
the 323is has:
CAI, exhaust, M50 intake, shark tuner, ASC delete, Electric fan, LTW flywheel, stage 2 clutch (400ish hp), LSD, ISC coil overs, e46 control arms, all sub frame bushings replaced w/ delrin, all diff bushings delrin, more delrin elsewhere, sub frame reinforcements, strut housing reinforcements, RCA limiters, transmission mount upgrade, m3 motor mounts, ltw Apex arc8 wheels, some Light weight mods.... Might be missing a few things but you get the picture.
the car has been built up for power, now I just need the FI!!!
If your chassis is well setup, then why not buy an S52 and plop that in your car. Extra 700cc's and some other goodies to boot.
Then add the S/C too if you like. Or not. Seems better than investing a ton in the smaller motor "just because"... You can still keep the 323 badge for insurance and sleeper status...
Tuning the AA on your motor is imminently possible, even if nobody has a shelf-tune you should be able to use ROMRaider for that, I hear its great stuff for a public domain setup.

Re: CR - whats the CR? 10.5 it loks like? Being just a centrifugal blower, that's no big deal at all as you're not pushing much PSI into the motor.

I had the AA kit on my 323is for a couple years then went turbo. Was fun for a while. I would say turbo now and gather parts to stroke it when it's time for a rebuild.
Butter's is Manchester NH, I'm sure he will chime in but he can give you advice. He's done plenty/
