Can you run a BMW C33/C43 off of a bench top power supply for testing?

Just a quick question: Is the security i.e. code feature going to prevent me from running the head unit out of the car?

If you have the radio code, there shouldn't be a problem powering up the radio outside of the car at all - we have a test bench that is run off the OEM Business CD radio from an E46. If you don't have the code, that would definitely present a problem though.
