Anyone provide feedback on rim choices and max tire size fit under some hard motorsport flares on an e36?

For an E36 with Hard Motorsport flares we recommend going with the 17x10 ET25 with 275/40-17 tires. Our wide 17" wheels are being offered through a Group Buy found here. Typically this fitment is reserved for cars pushing quite a bit of power to merit the 275 tires. For customers just wanting a bit more clearance to work with, you could run the 17x9.5 ET35 with either 255/40-17 or 265/40-17 tires. Spacers will be needed to clear your suspension and to be flush with the flares. The 17x9.5 ET35 is a wheel we produce consistently and is available through the standard 17" Group Buy.

Thanks for the information Matt. I guess I should've mentioned I was looking for the option that would get me the most rubber in the rear since I will be north of 800whp

No problem! In that case, I would recommend checking out our Wide 17" ARC-8 Group Buy found here. The 17x10 ET25 will be the best option for you

Shown on the Hellrot E36 M3 is the 17x9” ET42 ARC-8’s wrapped in 245/40/17 street tires with a 12mm spacer in the front. The 17x9" ET42 is a wheel that can accommodate the wider 245/40/17 R-compound tires and also 255/40/17 street tire size because of it's greater width. A 12mm front wheel spacer is needed to clear the front strut.

Need wheels for the upcoming track season? Then this is the Group Buy you! You don't want to miss out on this amazing deal!

For those looking for a staggered fitment that allows for staggered face profiles eor add big brake clearance, the combination of 17x8.5” ET40 and 17x9.5” ET35 is a very popular choice for these applications. The 17x8.5" ET40 is a direct fitment for your E36 and would not need any additional negative camber, wheel spacers, or fender rolling when using a 235/40/17 street tire. The rear fenders do need to be rolled but not pulled for the 17x9.5” ET35 wheel, when in use with a 245/40/17 tire size.

This Group Buy enters the payment phase in just 2 days! You don't want to miss out on this opportunity!

The 17x9.5" ET35 ARC-8's are the most aggressive 17" wheel set up available for your E36 M3. Because of the wheel's concavity, it is most commonly used as a street fitment with undersized and stretched sidewall 245/40/17 street tires as shown on the photo above. The 17x9.5" ET35 requires a 5mm spacer up front to clear the suspension. Even with the 5mm wheel spacer, proper spring perch location with coilovers is very important. The required camber in front to clear this fitment would be at least -3 degrees. Camber plates are recommended for this reason. The rear fenders are the trickiest part of the 17x9.5” concave fitment: the rear fenders need to be rolled but will not need to be pulled if used with a 245/40/17 street tire. Any tire wider will require more fender work such as “pulling”. Our best advice is to focus extra attention in this particular spot when rolling/pulling fenders. Added negative camber in the rear will help with tire to fender clearance as well, so we suggest around -1.8 to -2 degrees, which is much easier to set with aftermarket adjustable lower control arms.

    Hello Everyone,

There are 2 days left on the clock for the 17” ARC-8 Group Buy. We currently have pledges for 40 sets of wheels, which represents ⅓ of the 101 members who indicated they were interested during the feeler phase.

We typically see a rush of buyers in the last few days of every Group Buy, but there is no reason to wait as the system does not reward those watching the deal and joining at the last moment. Submit your pledge today and save big on a set of 17” ARC-8 wheels.

The Group Buy ends on 02/09/2017 at 11:59PM PST - let's finish strong!
