    2005 Z4

    engine oil of choice for 2005 z4 e85 2.5i

    i got the german castrol edge 0w-40 LL 01 approved at walmart

    is this safe to use?

    the oil bmw engine oil i got from the past had 5w-30 weight and it worries me.

    i live in mostly warm climate (california)

    I'm going to try this oil, too. I've used Mobil 1 Euro full synthetic (0W40) for years in applications calling for full synthetic 5W30. Seems to work fine as long as it meets the manufacturer's spec.

    You'll be fine with 0w40 synthetic with LL 01 Spec.
