I am also putting H&R front and Eibach rear... Its the best combination of ride quality/stance IMO, especially combined with some good shocks

Intake manifolds off, cleaned and powdercoated.

    Old struts off:

    Senieji amortikai von:

BTW, here is what was found in the front:

New ones (Eibachs in the rear and H&Rs in the front) in!

Dropped the car down. But the clearance is still the same. Will need to wait for the spring to ride a bit for to have these settle down.

A little tip with the boot for the front inserts, use a zip tie on the top of the cover and it will hold it in place during suspension travel to keep additional dirt and dust from entering the boot.
    What "thumbs up" really means

OK so couple things, since you have the fuel rail out I suggest upgrading to 4 pintle injectors and wrapping the fuel rail in heat reflective foil, this was done by BMW on a later cars to keep the fuel temps down.
I also noticed you have a clear coolant expansion tank, those are known to explode, replace with updated black tank, replace the fan blade and fan clutch at the same time unless you want a blade sticking out your hood as an accessory

It seems that I will have to buy a pair of seats just because of these plastic trims, because nobody sells these separately.

There is one shop in my area who specializes in rebuilding steering boxes. So they rebuilt mine as well.

I thought you were doing all this work, Mirrors take about 10 minutes to install.

    Agree with you.
But as the car is disassembled for paint-job, the workshop guys will install these instead of the old ones after the cars gets back painted.

Moving forward with Throwing star custom splits.

    It should be 19x9.1 -6 and 19x10.6 - 11
I guess I will need to take serious action to fir these under the 8er fenders...

The fronts will be fine, the rears will need the arches rolled, and you will need to be careful with tyre size.

I've just had my throwing stars rebuild to take the rears from 10" et -2 to 10.5" et 17, with 275/30 tyres - that should fit nicely as it sits in between the offsets for the e31 Alpinas and MK1 wheels

You might need to stick with 265 tyres to make it work.

weirdly on my car the drivers side rear wheel (fuel filler side) pokes out 10mm more that the other side, its def not the wheels but the rear axle/body - normally not noticeable until you run low offset wheels.

Anyone else found this on their E31?
