    1995 Alpine Sedan build daily/track

Hey guys, been lurking on this section for a while and decided ill just share my build as of today, it is a slow but sure build.

Here is my old track toy that i sold to purchase an x5 (bad idea).

Drove the x5 for a little bit of time and decided that i want to get back into the e36 game again. So i purchased a 1995 325i sedan with 240k miles on it, Cali car with 0 rust and overall clean car for a steal haha.

Right after getting it back home i gave it a good was and clean and the car was mint. Except for the smashed hood haha.

First off was the suspension, so i just gave raceland a try, paired them with ground control plates, and honestly they do the job well as for a daily, we will yet have to see how they do on the track, i have them on the highest setting, they are stiff yet just a little bouncy.

Since i had a set of xxr521s laying around and not fitting my fenders, decided to order a set of Hard Motorsport fender flares and run 255/35/18 squared. Had to cut all inner lips on each fender flare because the offset was just too much.

Once i Next came all the maintenance and power mods. All gaskets, water pump, thermostat, plugs, hoses were replaced along with the steering rack since it was leaking like hell after being used for that many miles. Tie rods, control arms and bushings were replaced too.

Rep shorty headers installed probably the biggest PITA.

Found a used set of s50 cams and just pulled a trigger on them, along with 24lbs injectors, 540i maf, Bimmerworld intake boot and RK-Tunes with a 5k launch control. Everything went smooth, did the cam swap in about 3-4 hours. After putting everything back together, i started hearing this rattle noise, and right a way figured out it was my vanos, quickly ordered a rebuilt vanos from Vac and got it installed. But looks like it wasn't the Vanos, it was the stupid intake cam spacer that i never knew about, ordered new ones of bmw and it fixed the problem.

Since my revlimited was set to 7300, decided to go with an m3 cluster out of a 95 m3, changed the bulbs and it works like new.

Also did a custom intake and box just to keep the temps down for the intake. Will be ditching the old headlights for some new glass ones.

Old driver's side seat was ripped apart so i found a local guy selling a recaro with mounts to replace it.

A guy on the forums was selling his squared set of ltw5's so i snagged them and will be running them for next season with 265/35 z2's.

Car was always running hot 200-220F so since i have replaced everything apart the radiator, decided to go with the z3m and upgrade to an electric fan while keeping the a/c.

First track event of next season is 4 months away, so i have a some time to get ready, a big list for me waiting on my garage table.

Looks like my clutch is at the end of the lifespan, will be upgrading the shifter with a solid one. Big brake kit is going to be on the way too as wel as the cage and many other goodies, to get it track ready. Still have to finish off the radiator ducting and repaint my flares to match the color of the car.

Not any time soon haha, for 500 bucks the suspension works fine, will have to see how it handles the abuse at the track and then if it fails ill have to look into full ground control setup, if it holds on ill keep it.

Updates: Been really busy with work, went on vocation and did not have time to update the thread that much, here is what i have done up to today.

Here is how she sits right now with winter wheels on.

Car decided to poop oil again out of the oil filter housing. Since the car has 250k miles, decided just to upgrade the whole housing, found a guy selling a used z3m housing with an extra port to run a sensor. Ever since replacing it no visible leaks (knocks on wood). Having an option to run an extra port, made my gauges look more tidy with a new panel off of ebay.

Did not feel really safe in the recaro rep, so pulled a trigger on a new corbeau, full suede with sliders, so my girlfriend can finally ride the car. Will be getting a second one in the near future.

Bought some used black floor mats to make the interior look more tidy.

Clutch started to vibrate when hard on throttle in 1st gear, so i ordered a brand new clutch and flywheel. Acompanied with a full new exhaust, bimmerworld race shifter, bunch of new bushings and a set of glass headlights with HID's to give the car a fresher look. Also found a set of tires that i will be picking up next weekend to go the new wheels.

Will be doing the clutch next saturday, so pictures to come.
