I have a 2006 3.0si Z4. When I reinstall the valve cover while replacing the gasket, how will I know the exact torque setting for my car?
It's never the fuse.
Not specifically Z4 but N52 none the less

Thank you!
Please pardon my ignorance but the list mentions different torques for m6 and m7. I bought a set of valve cover screws which lists the dimensions as (19) 7x33.5mm (3) 7x43.5mm. Does that mean M7?

Has anyone seen a good set of DIY instructions for N52s that have the magnesium valve cover? I've seen multiple instructions for the plastic cover and thought, "that doesn't look so bad" but now I'm reading about the magnesium cover removal and I'm seeing mentions of snapped bolts and other issues and I am feeling rather more intimidated than I was before especially since I would be sort of diving in blind.

Yes, It is M7 with torque of 15Nm (11.1 lb/ft)
Just as important as the correct torque specs> correct torque drive, use 1/4" drive torque wrench.
This will help prevent the snapped bolts, cracked valve covers that you've been reading about.
