Exclamation SMG to 6MT Swap- Drivability Issues, Loss of Power

    Hey there,

recently had the swap done. Reprogramming was done with Autologic.

There are no CELs, and the car drives great, except it really doesn't. The issue I'm having is fairly difficult to explain. In 1st gear, with the DSC off, from 4K RPMs, I can stomp on it and the rear tires wont so much as chirp. In fact, the engine doesn't even really start to breath until like 6k RPMs in 3rd gear.

I was convinced that the VANOS ate shit, but after talking with Beisan it was pretty clear that wasn't the issue.

After hooking up my Schwaben code reader I noticed it had an SMG related fault. "6 TIMEOUT SMG-CAN" or something like that. It was my understanding that Autologic was capable of completely erasing anything SMGII related. Is this correct? Is this fault code the reason my s54 feels about like an e30 318i until 4th gear or so?

Somebody, please shed some light on why this car has lost its' sack.

I was looking into this too because I was thinking of getting an SMG and switching out with a 6MT. You didn't try reprogramming with the Autologic system? Also, I found this:

SMG to Manual trans DME modification

    change cfg_m.getriebetyp and cfg_s.getriebetyp from 40 to 03.

In hex should be 0x8 and 0x4008

Also need to suppress SMG DTC codes

    0x06 (6) "Time out SMG-CAN"

    0x7B (123) "No CAN-bus signal from SMG"

0xB1 (177) "MIL lights up due to prompt from SMG"
