First of all, I'm posting this here instead of in the E12 knowledgebase since the E12/8 has an E28 interior, so I feel it'll fit better here.
I'd just like to know how the brake warning light is supposed to work in these cars, and if mine is working as it should.
Basically, when I put the key in the ignition/on position everything except the brake warning and oil lights are on. Then, when I start the car, those two light up until I let go of the key, and they go out. Is that normal for the brake warning? And as a side note, should the oil light only go on once the engine starts to crank?
ck panel or dash ? all should go out after it starts. unless emergency brk is pulled on. or brk sensors show bad pads or faulty sensors. oil light off when oil pressure is built up. ck eng light stays on till ya push brk pedal
This car doesn't have that panel next to the cluster, so it's just the ones in the cluster itself. I'm just curious how the brake pad wear light should behave, and why the two lights I mentioned only light up once the engine starts cranking.
Also, I take it that ! light is the check engine one you mentioned? How is it supposed to work? Because mine never lights up at all (except for the service indicator that constantly goes beserk, but I've read that it's just the on-board battery that's gone).
EDIT: I'm currently uplading a video, which should help explain.

Don't mind the starter, the bush at the end came out, making it run out of alignment.
