2011 Bmw 335i won't start. Electronics work.

Bought the car from salvage yard with a little bit of damage. The car started up just fine and drove but it did make weird clicking noise. Everytime I locked the car or unlocked it it would start clicking for couple of seconds and then stop. Drove the car for 2 days, came home the check engine came on, so I shut the car off and hooked up an obd scanner to check the problem it didn't show anything since the scanner was old, after scanning it I tried starting the car and it wouldn't start. All the electronics work, and it cranks when you try to start it up just won't fire up. what can it be? Couple of people said its the valvetronic motor and timing is off, could that be it? Car only has 25k too......

Could you tell where the clicking was coming from? Inside the car or under the hood or the back of the car??

Your best bet is to find out where that clicking is coming from. I would assume if you hear it from under the hood it could be valvetronic motor. But I am by no means a BMW mechanic.
