we all know about the plastic gear in the x5, x3, xi transfer case motor, you can buy another gear & install it or
you can reposition the gear because it does not rotate in a complete circle, so there are unused teeth in the
existing gear. well sib 27-02-16 dated 07-2016 is bmw's fix for it. the part kit is like $170.00 retail. this has been happening since the e53 x5 and only now is there a bulletin from bmw, funny.

BMW USA is not getting the memos from BMW HQ. I swear, they are their own worst enemy. Reliability is key. Inexpensive Toyotas are reliable as hell. Why can't hi-tech BMWs be as reliable as Toyotas?
The answer is, BMW USA finds it acceptable to let this issue go for years. They are not "proactive."
