Post Getting my first bimmer help

Hey guys. I'm about to buy my first BMW. My budget is around $11k (10,000 euros). I'm not really sure what should I get. I got my eyes on a few models and what I want is to get a nice information about each model from people who OWN these cars.
BMW 120d or 120i coupe E87 2004-2008 models. Diesel or Petrol engine?
BMW 320d or 320i coupe E92 2006-2008 models. Diesel or Petrol?
    BMW 320d sedan E90 2006-2008
    BMW 320ci E46 restyling 2005-2006

I hope I wrote this on the right page.

Yea you did. For 10k euros you will have quite a big selection here. I'll browse and see the difference in the market.

A lot of us don't have much experience with diesels aside from the top tier ones sold here. For this price you can probably get a well sorted low mileage E46, E39, and plenty of E60s. If you want the enthusiast experience, go ahead and get one of those. Something of higher tier, but older will be more satisfying than a lesser version of a newer car.

There's a ton of cheap 530ds that'll need a lot of work, but can be turned into whatever you like for the rock bottom prices they're at.

Usually the petrol will wipe the floor with the diesel, but of course better economy.

For a fun car I think the 120i will be best. Maybe E46 if its all the same engine. 1 series and E46 are lighter than the other cars mentioned so will be faster and get better mpg. If you want the most economical Id get the diesel variants.

What are you looking for from this car?

I'm looking at German car sales and I see the value of the 1ers are basically the same as here. Higher tiers are pretty out of budget.

    I'd say E46 Compact or 330i.

Yeah 530d E60 is awesome, my dad used to own it. But in my country I cant get 530d in good condition, I would need at least 12-15k for it here.

Well I need a car that is fast enough and a car that has good mpg. 120i looks really awesome and fast. What do you think about maintenance costs of 120i coupe?

Well 320i is much more approachable for me lol. In my country its really expensive to own 3.0 engine, and since I want to have all my car expenses entirely paid by me I would rather go with 2.0 litre engine. But still I like ur idea, 330i is sick

    Where are you located?

120i would be ideal. Basically typical bangle era BMW maintenance get 800 a year in reserve for sure.

If you want a 330, try and find one sub-6k
