7 year old winter tires - thoughts?

As the title suggests, I have come up on a nice set of winter tires with only 1,000 miles on them and always stored in a climate controlled storage at Cassidy Tire. Unfortunately, the DOT stamp looks like it might be from 2009. Michelin and Continental suggest annual inspection from 6-10 years. Thoughts? I plan on getting them looked at by a professional.

They should be fine, as long as no sign of dry rot. Also a nice discount from Cassidy Tire would help to close that deal.

My rule of thumb; If you can't make an impression in the rubber with your fingernail they are too hard for winter use.

If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower. - Mark Donohue

That would make me uncomfortable, but if the pro signs off on them then why not. Hope you're getting a good deal on them. For reference, if you're on OEM E36 318i tire sizes you can get a set of 4 new for under $300 shipped.
