I have just finished a rebuild for my 02 everything's hooked up but the starter solenoid isn't getting any power so I can't start it with the key. I've already removed the starter and tested everything with the battery and jumper cables and the motor works and the solenoid works, but there is a third terminal I don't know what it does. when I turn the key nothing happens. Yesterday when I turned the key to the fahrt position the fuel gauge started working and the fasten seat belts sign lit up when I turned the key to start the engine it did turn over for a second but now it it's right back to where it was. Before dismantling the engine I took pictures of everything and I'm pretty sure the starter is hooked up correctly I can bypass the key by arcing the terminals and the car does turn over, and all the fuses are good.
Any suggestions? What is the third terminal for?
