DISCLAIMER: I have nor the time, money, experience or patience to fix the issue at hand so please no "fix it correctly" posts. With that in mind, I thank everyone who has a hand in this.
First time poster here. My name is Nik from Western WA, 17 yrs. First BMW or German car. I picked up a 1996 740il for $250, 163k miles, with a supposed blown head gasket. Oil is nice and milky, Car is in meh shape. One fender is dinged and so is the trunk, the interior is partially missing and needs a good detail. Car takes anywhere from 2 seconds to 20 when starting (I don't like to have it run because of the oil in the coolant) and runs very rough because of the head gasket failure presumably. I had read a post of another guy on here that had the same situation as me. A problem that with proper fixing outweighs the value of the car. So I'm here to share my experience and look for advice. Deep breath....I bought a bottle of Blue Devil - Head gasket sealer and plan to use it on the car (Cringe). Anyone have stories about this product on their bimmers? I've heard if properly used it may yield good results. I plan on running the car into the ground, and part what I can if the engine fix fails. If the vehicle goes tits up, well it's only $250 and I really want to see what the deal with this HG sealer is.
- it's currently 12:36 AM, I'll post pictures tomorrow.
Thanks
