dont think its an actual m because on the wiki it says that 1988 was the first m year for e30's. However it seems like a nice buy. I am going to talk to the guy more and I will update whoever replies to the thread. Tell me what you guys think! I'm driving out tomorrow to check it out!

the post doesn't indicate that it's an M...it just has the M-badge on the front (which BTW that one he has on there is the wrong type of "M" badge, E30 M3 front badge was "///M3")

And the E30 M3 started production in 1986 (this year [2016] they are going to sell the 30th anniversary version of the M3 too).
I just double checked and wiki states the correct information...the EVO 2 came out in '88.

EDIT: "left top shock wheel support is cracked and needs welding"...I would pass whenever a car needs body work off the bat. Find one that is actually 'clean'.

It also has an M3 badge on the trunklid, FWIW. But it is clearly not an M3. (For many reasons - the price missing another "0" is a good indicator as well)

If you don't doing some major work on this car it may be a good buy. If it needs a shock tower welded now, expect more expensive repairs in the near future. But it is still a pretty cool and unique car if the story is true
