is it time to drop the E36 M3 if i can get a G37X for a great deal?

had my E36 M3 for almost 15 years. i love it but my wife and everyone around me is telling me to get rid of it. i still love it but having in the shop for a few weeks out of the year getting fixed is getting tiresome. i have a great deal on a 2012 G37X thats in my lap.

i dont know if i can pull the trigger even though it makes sense.

    help

Id buy the newer, more comfortable car that you will drive more and that your wife likes. A G37X has just as good performance as an E36M3. This way you get to have fun and she wont be asking to take her car whenever you go somewhere together.

My wife does not much like riding in my E36M3 and I dont love driving her E61 535xi, so I bought an 08M3. But I did keep the E36M3. I do all the work myself, and if it is on the lift, I have the 08M3 to drive.

I leased one couple years ago and it was a great car to drive. However it was at the dealer almost as many times as my 335i was.

An E36 is getting a bit old for a daily. Why not keep it, turn it into weekend fun car (track events etc) and get something more modern?

The G37 is a capable car but completely soulless and boring to drive. I would never even consider owning a car like that. If I needed something newer I'd look at an E90

    I agree ^^^

I take the M3 to the track and e90 335i to work and trips. I love the g37 but like others said, it will need as much work and costs more to fix even if you do the work yourself so have both unless the M is in great shape then you can get some bank for it
