Hello all,
I recently transported my 1998 328i from home to Dallas as a work car. As I'm sure you know, Texas can get REALLY hot, so I've decided to add some upgraded components. I did the Fan Delete Mod 5 or 6 years ago. I'm going to replace the stock radiator with this high capacity model from Bimmer World:

I also ordered BM's Spal electric fan conversion kit:

My question is with the increased cooling capabilities, do you think I should stick with the lower temp thermostat and fan switch from the Fan Delete Mod, or go back to the stock value units?
Thanks,
Brad

You will be fine, I would just get a 540i radiator and put a electric fan on there and you will be set for life of the car.
But yea, just a electric fan would be enough, how I have it setup is using a temp swtich that turns the fan on when the water temp goes past 40c.

Interest on a Very Budget Supercharger Build??
I can chose between 10C - 100C basically when the fan comes on, I have driven supercharged with the fan off and had no issues and my SC runs Hot Hot Hot.
But I get your point, I think the 98/88C temp switch is for the aux fan to come on. I dont think these engines are ~30C lol.. thats crazy.

To beat the heat here in Texas, I use an oil cooler. I have the cooler and the oil filter housing from Zionsville. I ran COTA in June.. upper 90's temperature in the shade... no over heating issues at all. I need to get a gauge on it but I ran one on an M3 and it dropped oil temps by 30F. JMTC
