Tyres 1series E87 120i Hatch sport ~ What will I get?

I'm interested to see what brand of tyres I should get and what should I steer clear of....
We don't change to winter tyres in Sydney. So, it an all weather tyre. Size of tyres 225/40/18
Don't do track work!
love a car/tyre that handles.
Don't like too fancier pattern (Ie. Water separator)
Usually like to see three deep grooves.
Like one of the tyre surfaces bounded by grooves to be smooth. (after a study of expensive tyres).
Cost will be considered when I do my first cut!
Hate runflats!
