Hi everyone,
A few days ago, I bought a used car. Today I went to see why the tpms light is not going away, my local shop told me that there are no tpms sensors in any of the tires, and that the dealer is not allowed to sell a car like that. However, when I went back to the dealer, they told me that since the 17" wheels are aftermarket, there is nothing they could do about that. However, I did not ask them to put the wheels on there, and even then, they should have included the tpms. What should I do? Are they legally suppose to include the tpms even with the aftermarket wheels? Thank you in advance for any advice!!
Bought a CPO BMW or a used car w/As-Is warranty?
What kind of dealer?
Did you not know they were aftermarket wheels?
What does the law say in your state regarding this?
You didn't ask them to put those wheels on but you did buy the car with the wheels on. The responsibility is yours and you should have checked out the car prior to purchase. TPMS is not really that important, you can either just keep an eye on your tire pressure or you can buy tires with the TPMS system.
This is in no way the dealer's responsibility. Caveat emptor

Was this a cpo car? Was it just a used dealer? Did you notice the tpms warning before buying the car? Some of these things can affect outcome. If it is cpo, you have a some room here. If it was just an as is, situation, you are out of luck. You can either live with it or get new sensors.
