2001/2002 BMW z3 coupe 3.0 (M54B30)

Hello everyone

I am new to this but wanted to reach out to BMW fans and ask some questions about 2001/2002 BMW z3 coupe 3.0 (M54B30)

I am currently in the market looking for one and I already found a couple at a decent price with low miles, less than 80k. The question I have is it a car that is high to maintain and can this be a daily driver, also if maintained well how long can the engine last. I am planning on keeping this car for a while.

Maintenance is not bad they will run well over 300k with proper maintenance. In the snow it will be a handful to drive.... Semi collectible future car so not sure I would waste money on a super low mile example. One with 100-120k miles will be fine with maintenance...

That's a pretty reliable motor, keep it maintained and it will last. I have a 2.5 liter m52tub25 (very similar to the m54) basically same block and head. I am at 195k and still going strong.

Only real point of concern is the cooling system, they need some love every 100k miles or so. Mine lasted to 155k but I didn't want to chance it furtner.

I would get a manual if you can, but you will fall in love with the coupe for sure.
