    danno14 & adwebinc,

Did either of you send me an e-mail or a PM inquiring about this. No you did not!
The cut off date was 5-22-16

    How does this work exactly?

a Special that expires, and you want to send me a pump to rebuild at later date?
For the same 20% off price?

Jay - Your response is not very professional and frankly turns me off from using your service. Danno stated, "I'm inclined to PAY FOR THIS NOW". In other words, you get your money now (before the end of the special) and he would send you the pump to be rebuilt when he had a chance to pull it out.

I personally am waiting on a four post lift to be installed, so I can tackle a couple of projects all at once. I was planning to send it to you for your regular price since I missed the special. Your condescending comments related to just how specials work really helped me realize just how they work, so I really appreciate that. I'll just spend the money to get a rebuilt one elsewhere if that's the way you choose to respond to two potential customers.

    Lol! "No soup for you!"

I believe I asked "is that ok?"

    Thanks for the clarity

This is a good example of the type that are just out to make a buck and aren't on the same page as most of us. There needs to be a better way to handle vendors.

I stand behind my previous post, what is a deadline mean of 5-22-16 when danno wants to notice me on 5-21-16 and still get 20 % off, and who knows when I will receive it, way past the deadline.
I am not a department store that hands out rain checks because I ran out of product. Did you guys ever hear of end date!
And you think I am unprofessional, I stand behind my product, and offer a discount, and all I get is a bunch who were to late for the party, to be admitted.

Jay - wasn't looking for a free ride. I won't speak for danno, but again I was more expressing my interest in the deal but fully prepared to pay full price since I couldn't get my pump out prior to the deadline. Is paying $20 more going to kill me when I put thousands into this car??? Really? Of course not.

However, your smug and condescending response solidifies my position related to my interest in doing business with you. Had you even shown just a tiny bit of contrition in your second response, it may have swayed my opinion. I'll happily pay even more than $100 to do business with a vendor that is more professional.

PS. I also notice you offer more money off on the "clean your own pump" discount on other forums than you offer here... Nice.

danno - here is a rebuild service offered through Rockauto for $62. Send it in, rebuild and return just like Jay's, but obviously $40 cheaper - http://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/b...ring+pump,7380 Rockauto has also always been professional when I have worked with them, so I'll be going this route.

They also have remans already done for $93, so still cheaper than Jay's non-special price.

That is fine with me, but you must be aware of the extra fees they sometimes add on, and that they do not always use the correct Booster Shaft Seal.
As they sometimes substitute a 10.00 mm id for the factory spec 9.5 mm id SS.

Go to the heading above this (brake booster repair kits available) in the For Sale Section, and read the horror story of A1-Cardone second page.
I will attach a couple photos of that same 10.0mm incorrect SS by A1-Cardone,

    Just to save $20.00

In the first photo shows the 10.0mm SS the A1-Cardone was installed upside down, on the left, correct on the right (from one of my spares)
    PC310017-001.JPG

2nd photo the incorrect seal from A1-Cardone, read the lettering 10 - 22 - 6 /7 id-od-thickness, Factory spec is 9.5 mm id, the 10.0mm SS is from china by YEI SHIEN

    P4190001.JPG

3rd photo with the garter spring came off because it was installed up side down, I relate this in the story, posted above in the for sale section.

    Have a good day gentleman,

    Jay

Thought I was clear on this already... I wouldn't own an 8 if I were very price sensitive. This is about doing business with someone who treats (potential) customers with respect not use exclamation marks and speak to them in a condescending tone. You still show zero contrition which means that you think the way you responded initially was truly ok.

guys, I'm speaking only for myself here- I'm not butt hurt about not getting the discount, and tried a little levity in my prior response. I appreciate both sides of this topic, and am grateful for someone who has obviously done a lot to research our hydro boost, as well the folks who are trying to say "play nice in our sand box".

This is a tight knit group, and noone likes to feel like they are being treated poorly. Not the vendor OR the customer.

Jay- If you took my reply as anything other than a light hearted "no problem, thanks!", please accept my apology. That's all I meant by it.

Adwebinc and Jeremey- I see where you are coming from... but that it's hard to interpret the non-verbal from the other side of a keyboard.

    Thanks all
