scanner tool can't identify my car

Hello my BMW E46 328ci has got an engine check indication .
the scanning tools can identify ECU or any information from the car,however the connectors has got a power supply ?

what do to fix this ?

First we need to know what scan tool you have.

There's a big circular connector under the hood - make sure the cap is on; if it's removed, a scan tool in the OBD2 port won't work. At least it is that way on E36s, and I suspect E46s carried that over.

I connect the tool to the circular connector under the hood and to the front connector (with cap on for the circular connector )both can not work of them

I'd take it to a dealer and see if they can read it first, if so the reader you have is the problem not the car.
