Watched one roll last weekend. That roof fell in a bit too easy.

to be fair though, would you expect anything less from a sub 2400lb, 30+ year old car?

yeah those things don't flip nicely. 240s too.
once saw an e36 flip at a track day, watched the owner bang the dents out of the roof and continue doin skids.

scored one of those buffing kits and did my headlights. worked out really well.
also got a ton of film back!!
sup dudes
rad blew up, which sucked. fixing it was one big fuck around.
come home, rad blew up.
luckily i pulled the one out of my parts car (330xi, automatic)
side by side, rads look the same except the expansion tank bracket. no biggie, ill just switch em and get to partying, right?
ha
hahah
haahha no
fuck you devo, said the rad
this was an aftermarket behr radiator, but an early one with a drain plug. the one it came with was short, so it let water go through a hole that the manual rad would have bypassed to go to the automatic transmission cooler. if that sounds confusing lm sorry, i cant really explain it better than that.
figure i need a longer drain plug.
oh, wait. i can just use the drain plug from my old rad
wrong
to put things in perspective this is what was happening
really sucked because i probably installed and uninstalled the rad 6 times before figuring out the issue
no worries, ill start tomorrow early and get a rad from partsource.
get rad from partsource, install, put all the trim back. even install new lower rad hose i've had sitting around. start filling the engine with coolant, then the rad (to avoid a shitty bleeding process)
filling the rad and.. you guessed it. coolant flying out of the exact same hole. turns out the rad i got was defective. i wanted to punch someone.
uninstall rad, go back to partsource, put new one in, fill, run car, notice the brand new lower rad hose i just installed leaking at one of the clamps as one last minute kick in the dick. laugh it off. drive.
went drifting too
it was so wild drifting on R compound tires. cool because they dont explode, the car is so fast on them and they are grippy. you really have to throw the car around to get it to slide. it was cool.
unfortunately i blew up a set of winters, it rekt my rear bumper (my last fucking one), feathered the absolute living shit out of my brand new NS2Rs and i lost a piece of the trim. so yesterday i switched out the nankangs for some regular random tires i was gonna skid on. made a worlds difference, the car is so much quieter. and today i decided to go to the scrap yard today and find all the exterior trim and stop running electrical tape. and now my car looks complete again
Any updates? Also who's e46 sedan is that? It looks great with those skirts.

sooooo lots has happened.
swapped the car to a 3L and its fast. also has a tune by mark dsylva
the old engine was leaking like fuckign crazy, it was so embarassing driving the car anywhere. it leaked so, so much. so i ditched it, and with the help of my homie steve threw in the 3L. did aluminium engine and transmission mounts as well as a PMC shifter
i was more than happy with it
did my tie rod ends, installed heim joint boots before installing them for max. lifetime and streetability
did some skids at a private skid pad day
went camping
then finally went drifting. im sure more photos will pop up but i have some videos in the mean time
the car is mental, uses 2nd and 3rd gear super easily. loads of fun to drive.
(yes the e46 coupe with the sideskirts has a 1jz)

( believe it or not i didnt spin, theres gopro footage from steves car proving it )
looks like way too much fun. are you guys all friends or do you just all happen to have bmws and drift? been trying to get my buddies out for some drifting/tandems
Looks awesome! Steve runs a turbo Bmw motor right?

we are all close friends who decided to buy similar make/model cars, paint them the same colour, make them sick and treat them like garbage.
all the cars are pretty heavidly modified
yeah its an m52 turbo with an m50 manifold m3 cams and some other shit
That's dope, don't see many setups like that competitively

yooo shit went down. was doing some cool shit at the track, and got bit.
busted my oil pan, busted a power steering line and airbag went off. not impressed.
had to get a tow home
apex took a nice chunk out of my rim too.

got an oil pan from an M54 my buddy mike (guy with the 1jz) was gonna scrap
steves putting it all in today. car is officially off daily duty. still a street car, mind you. just no longer the only unit i rely on.
Damn, what happened?
this is how i smashed
that's a really forgiving track. not unlike the one i drift on. wide open spaces, not a whole lot of places to smash into besides some tire walls. love the video.

sup dudes. been super busy with work and side projects but basically heres whats basically been going on
sold my all my 16s, decided to save up for 18s. 18s acquired
skid wheels: 18x9.5 and 18x8.5 SSR Gartmaier MayBachs
daily wheels: 18x9.5 +38 Rota SlipStreams
with my ichiba 15mm conversion spacers the final size of all the wheels will be 18x9.5 et 23 which should fit amazingly on the rear... the front will be a fun challenge. ill probably have to wind the control arms in a bit so the tire doesnt stick too far out the fender.
speaking of fenders i harvested 2 sets of rear quarters from parts cars:
this way i can cut my factory fenders up nice and high and rivet these to the body for maximum clearance. my friend did this to his e36 and was able to tuck 245s (maybe 255s) sideways at a drift day without any issues.
i figure ill just heavily roll one set of quarters and radius the other set, hot rod style so i can be as low as i am and have even fender arches.
also found a super rare m tech 1 rear bumper. overall im pretty stoked with my purchases so far, i should have an aluminium rad and silicone rad hoses by the end of the month, as well as a random cooler for my power steering so i can get some lines made and start plumbing that stuff.
I feel like drifting on ssr's and dailying rota's is backwards, but like, do a burnout and it won't matter
big update! finally test fitted the wheels.
size is 18x9.5 et38 with a 15mm spacer (effective et23) and they fit awesome!!

SSRs are the same size so they should be the same fitment. very excited for the season! just waiting on the aluminium rad, silicone rad hoses and i have to start making my power steering cooler.
