    Seal quality

I am working on my Z3 but this really applies to all because the rear crank shaft seal is common between many many of the models.

I took the old seal out with the holder and compared it to the cheap after market part I had bought. (a german mfg that I had used before and was good quality in the past. {1st pict}) I didn't like how they compared so I tossed the $10 and paid for a new OEM. Below are the pictures.

I will not put in the new OEM pc of junk (2nd pict), it does not even have a tension spring. Not only that but the material is paper thin.
BTW the one out of the car (3rd pict) has 115k miles on it. I still like it best.
