2004 325xi hid install what do I need?

Hi I just purchases my first bmw. It's a 2004 325xi with 115,000 miles. Of course I like many other want my car to have those "eyes". I have seen a few reasonably priced hid kits and understand I can do just the low beams or both low and high beams. My question is are they any parts that don't usually come with kits that I will need and is there anything I should look out for when installing? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Depending on what kit you buy they usually all come with everything you need they are also usually easy to install as well.

Thanks for the reply! I'm looking at a few kits on Amazon and eBay, but now I'm thinking I might just get whole new headlights since it rained today and both sides have some good condensation in them....

    Hey fellow MA member!

You can replace gaskets between the lens and the housing when it comes to condensation.

Yeah I was actually just talking to my brother the other day and he was saying that on his truck(he had an f350) that he would have to toss his light in the oven to get the lens off. Ha! Who said bimmers are hard to work on! Haha
One question I do have is does the corner have its own gasket or does the one gasket go around the headlight and corner? I was starting to think there wasn't anyone else from mass on here(even though I haven't been here long)

There's probably more info at http://forum.e46fanatics.com/forumdisplay.php?f=4 North American spec headlights on e36's need to be baked to remove the plastic lenses just like the Ford.

You are looking to upgrade to Xenon and install Angel Eyes essentially? And you have halogen headlights currently?

Yes, exactly. Would I just be better off buying a set New assemblies? I'm not to worried about retro fitting my lights but I would only want to do that for cost efficiency, so if everything I would need to retro fit would end up being close to cost of new lights I figure I might as well just get new lights.

It will be cheaper to add to existing lights because none of e46s came with angel eyes, so you would have to open assemblies to add them anyway. Post a picture of how your current light looks like: if there is already a projector in them, you may be able to modify them to run HID setup.

Yes post your housings. Assuming it is halogens can easily retrofit and drop in Angel Eyes.

Throw in some angel eyes while at it if you want.
