    E87 118i Hatch

    High rate of oil Consumption

    Car: 2010 E87 118i
    Current oil: Penrite HPR 5 Full Synthetic 5W-40
    Odometer: 169,000KM
    Gearbox: Auto
    Driving style: Predominately highway driving, 30-50km per trip.

    Over the last year have noticed that I am having to top up the oil more and more. I have gone through 5-6 litres this year (20-30,000 Km).

    There is no smoke, the exhaust tip is not sooty and there are no visible oil leaks or spots under the car.

    1) What are your suggestions to causes?
    2) Is it okay to continue topping up when required?
