Programming BMW's HomeLink to a Security+2.0 LiftMaster garage door opener?

I'm wondering what year BMWs are able to do this. If you have a newer garage door opener, it may have "Security+2.0" (you'll see this label on the side) - the newest LiftMaster radio standard which HomeLink began implementing in their devices in 2008. However, from what I'm reading on various forums, it's incompatible with BMWs as "old" as the 2012 model year.

Who's had luck with these, and what model year is your car?
