Hey all...the coolant pipe from the front of the engine has a leak. I am replacing the pipe and the hoses that attach since it is pretty buried and want a one-and-done for this. I am having a problem figuring out how to remove the lower intake. The intake is loose but the fuel rail has two very short fuel line hoses that allow no play to remove them (see Picture) Plus the hose clamp (top arrow pointing) has a very strange clamp with plastic caps (the screw under them is not even a screw) that I am not even sure how to loosen except with a pair of needle-nose pliers. Plus the fuel piping looks like plastic and is probably pretty fragile to be pulling hoses off with force.
Does anyone have any advise on how to finish the removal? I am thinking of cutting the hoses (after depressurizing the fuel) and just replacing them. I seems like it would be enough to get the lower intake out of the way to get to the coolant pipe. But I'll bet someone knows a trick out there and would appreciate the advise. Thanks!
