*Car is SOLD*
A bit of a bittersweet moment, as this car has been a big part of my existence for the past 9.5 years. However, desire for adding another car into the fold sometime in 2016 means that room needs to be made in the garage. Title is clean and in-hand, Carfax is on-hand and can be furnished as requested.

OE BMW hardtop in Estoril Blue with new OE black headliner, with mounting hardware and rolling storage car available separately, first right of refusal to the buyer of the car. This car is a clean, well maintained driver to enjoy for many miles, with asking price indicated accordingly. It is not a low-mileage showroom-fresh investment grade garage queen, please reference MRoadsterBuyersGuide for 2001-2001 model year comparables.
The Roadster is an early production 01, Estoril blue on a 2-tone black/gray nappa interior, with just a hair over 100k on the chassis, bought in 2006 at 33-34k as a CPO. I am the 2nd owner, with the car originally from the Long Island area, serviced and subsequently traded in at Competition BMW of Smithtown on LI, where I then purchased it. The car served as a year-round driver from 2006 to 2009, where it was moved to nice-day summer weekend use. That has been its purpose up through present. The motivation for selling it is that as of late, time has been less and less to drive it, and after 9.5 years of ownership, I am interested in freshening up that spot in the garage and trying something new. The car has been maintained with the intent of keeping it well into the future, so it is in great shape as a driver to enjoy. The interior and exterior present well, minor wear on the driver's side seat bolster. The driver's side door lock does spin a bit before a manual unlock with the key (has keyless entry), which is a common and fixable issue on these cars. Paint is clean, with repainting performed on the front end, rear pass fender, rear bumper. Its last valve adjustment was just a couple thousand miles ago (I'll check my records for the exact number), and VANOS inspected perfect at that time. I did the check and adjustment with our own RickySixx6 and his Coupe as well at the same time, since he wanted to learn the process. Castrol 10W60 oil for its entire life, on 5k intervals or seasonally. The soft top is original, and in very good condition, treated seasonally with cleaner and conditioner.
The VANOS system was inspected at its last valve adjustment, and looked to be in great shape. VANOS Hub tabs and disc inspected Feb 2016 with replacement of valve cover gasket, and are in perfect shape, and no abnormal noises. As far as the rear differential ear mount/trunk floor goes, the car experienced the infamous popped welds and some tearing back in 2011. The weak and fatigued metal cross-brace and differential ear mount was removed, and a box-tube steel crossmember with triangulated dual-ear differential mounts was fabricated into the rear unibody/trunk, as a common reinforcement practice for high powered E30 and Z3 race/V8 applications to bullet-proof the rear end. It is the more heavy-duty fix to the issue versus the RF kit, however it is not something that I wanted to have to worry about again. Once metal has fatigued and the spot welds began to fail, I did not want that compromised metal in the car any longer. The entire rear suspension and drivetrain was refreshed and improved at that point as well with new bushings, subframe, poly subframe mounts, driveline replace/refresh, diff disassembly and refresh.
The car has some modifications/improvements, most all reversible, as I had intended to find some time to auto-x and do some high performance driving days on the track. However, a busy travel schedule and other life events have prevented that, so the car has not set foot off the public roads. As the car is readied for sale, some of the aftermarket components such as wheels have been removed from the car and replaced with the stock items. The car has a 3-clutch 3.73 LSD, so it is significantly more lively and engaging to drive than the stock 2-clutch 3.15 LSD, in straight line acceleration and rear end bite. This past season, I did a complete front end preventative refresh of the wear items, as seen below:

Sooooo much want
“If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.”
― George Orwell
If you're looking at this thread wishing for a 1st hand review or opinion from someone else who has seen and knows of the car, then I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt, you will not find a better equipped and "set" car to buy. The amount of mechanical detail Matt puts into his car is, for lack of a better term, absurd. The man can speak for himself but if a 2nd opinion matters, I would gladly put my name/reputation behind it.
One of my favorite roasters! Good luck with sale.
if the BBS Motorsport E26 become available I am very interested.
thanks Jeff
Damn Matt, GLWS! I'll post this around for you, but really wish I had the spare cash to drop on this.
