    BMW 750 e38 starting problems/acceleration hesitation

    Hi All,

New the forum but looking for some help on my e38 750 1998.

Firstly the problem has occurred after being on holiday and not driving the car for almost 3 weeks.

Upon starting from cold it seems ok. Little hard to start than normal but nothing to bad. Then after a 10 minute drive, stop the car, try to restart and its very very hard to start. I've ran the battery out almost trying to start it, then 30 minutes later it will start. There's also hesitation in the acceleration from low standing/very low speeds. This doesn't occur from cold and usually get worse when it heats up.

From reading various post I've concluded its either fuel pump/filter, MAF, CPS (although this was replaced 2 years ago).

Any ideas on this one? Particularly around starts from cold but then after 10/15 minute drive it won't start?

    Cheers

The first thing is to see what codes are being stored by the ECU. This is always the first step. Also, how old is the battery? I'd check the system voltage at idle with a digital volt meter. Your alternator could be having problems.
