Dude, 100% fan of the car. I quoted this post because it captures all the crap I was given with my SBC powered E36 build. As you found, not much appreciation for the build on a purist site like this one. Pretty sad but at the same time, I get it too. Being different is where it's at, IMO. This body style grew on me. I've always liked it. But, I'm a classic Chevy guy at heart so the nimble E36 (factory underpowered chassis) needed some pep. SBC 406/TH350 and a 150 shot of giggle juice netted 9.50@147 at 1800 feet DA. Mine was also running stock suspension front to back. 240,XXX mile original everything, 1 blown strut and all. Delayed the nitrous 1.8 seconds and left on the foot brake to keep from scattering the stock differential or breaking the tiny axles. Went 1.44 60' n/a and 6.20@121 in the 1/8th. Back halfed like a turbo car due to n/a launch and delay on nitrous. Biggest car regret I have, to date, is selling that car. Went 9.97@135 n/a. I hadn't even come close to maximizing the car. Only ran it half a season out here in CA. All garage built by me except for the 6pt rollbar. I subbed that out to my fab guy. I built the engine for 350+ nitrous hit but it would have needed a solid axle before it would have ever seen that. I never dyno'd mine but math on performance says 560 or so to the ground n/a and right at 700 on the bottle. Never broke a thing. But, at 780, I'm sure you're making more torque than I ever did. Cool car, man. I know for sure it hurts feelings. Between the haters who wish they had it, the rocket fast car guys who have to look at your tail lights to the hating purists... Haters prove you're doing something right. Could you make this power, or more, on a BMW power plant? Sure, for 3X the money. :-)

Ah, I hit the reply instead of the quote by accident. Post I meant to quote was your replies to several people. PM me an email address. Wouldn't mind finding out some more details about how you built yours.
