Just wanted to say hey, my name is Kolt i live in Georgia and i just picked up a e21 thats about to get a m52 swap. Back into a bmw since my 318i e30 went down in flames.
Hi welcome!
Check out the E21 sub of the site http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/fo...1975-1983-(E21). Quite a few guys with a lot of knowledge in there.
Anything wrong with the current engine in the E21, or just in need of more hp?
What happened with the E30..??
I bought it with the engine disassembled and figured might as well. The e30 had a fuel leak i didnt know about and caught spark some how woth me in it, she was gone within minutes. I was crying like a little girl while it was still steaming

Hey, welcome! Sorry to hear about the E30, I know what that's like and it's a horrible experience. Glad you got out okay. I say swap in whatever you want, but I'd suggest something light like a Ford BDA or maybe like an 1800cc Ford Kent Crossflow for better reliability....
...yeah, that would be seriously awesome.

Thanks elva but im in the US and i dont think we get those engines here, plus i really want to keep it bmw. My e30 was my baby, she wasnt fast by anymeans but what she lacked in power she made up for in nimbleness and fun. I gigure if i can break 130 or so shell be a fun light drifter/ auto X.
I'm in New York, no excuses!
They're not too common these days, although you can buy almost everything to build either brand new. More realistically, a healthy carbed M10 is always a fun choice!
