i have a 2002 BMW 318 ci 62,000 miles bought the car running rough so assumed it was a sensor got it home put the scan tool on it came up with camshaft sensor so replaced the sensor cleared the fault engine was still running rough and not revving over 2000 rmp so took the engine cover only to find the vvt motor had been disconnected so turned the engine off reconnected the vvt motor and the car would not start at all and make a funny winding noise it would fire for a couple of seconds then die , so i am now assuming that the vvt motor is at fault can any one advise ? many thanks ant
