I have a 94 e34 touring and I and wanting to get a set of coilovers. Can't find any touring specific sets wasn't sure of the suspension would be the same as the sedans or not. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Alright thanks.. I was looking at the BC and just wasn't 100% if they'd work
My idea of how high the rating should be
It should ride fine they are not light cars. You adjust tide height with the damper by moving it up and down in the housing. One thing I found is you need to preload the springs about 1/2 inch they perform and ride much better with a little preload.
It will ride firm more sport than touring, which I like mine handled like a go kart! It was a lot of fun on exit ramps!! And twisty roads!

Awesome.. The thing handles like a boat right now
looking at fitting a BC kit in mine to. If so can you still keep the SLS on the read of the touring or should I get rid of all that and just do a "loop pipe"
Okay thanks, I email BC to ask if that loop pipe is supplied. If it isn't do you know what thread size it is? Or is there anywhere that actually supplies this loop pipe with out it being made specially by a hydraulic company?
Also BC replied and said welding is needed in this kit, what welding needs to be done? Also they recommended 7/6kg/mm spring rate. I thought 12/10kg/mm would be better and stiffer for a touring which will be run quite low with the rim sitting very close to the arch?
You have to weld the front damper sleeve on the housing any welding shop can do it for you once you cut it down..
BC and ISC guys seem to not really understand BMW spring rates, or wagon rates, which are also not the same as needed by a sedan. 7/6k is WAY to soft for a heavy car... A middle rate would be 10k/10k the rear of the touring is heavier so you need almost same rates or slightly higher in rear. 12/10 will also work.
