E53 X5 Bluetooth HELP!

Hi guys, I seriously need some help with my 2004 X5 Bluetooth.

I have read every video and nearly every post I can find, but nothing.

Here is what I know, I HAVE the silver Bluetooth unit near my driver taillight/spare tire, I DO NOT have the Bluetooth button in the console area, I DO have a multi function steering wheel with the RT button and the face with waves.

What I have tried:

While Iphone is in pairing mode.

Press and hold the face button on steering wheel for three seconds, turn key to position 2, hold for thee more seconds.

Nothing happens.

I've tried this least 30 times with various differences according to different instructions.

If I press the TEL button on my radio it just says "PHONE CONNECTED?"

Please help!!!

I know my PK from the Bluetooth unit but I've never gotten that far.

Just because there is a bluetooth logo on the TCU, doesn't mean you're vehicle actually has bluetooth. My old E53 had the same thing. I had to get a TCU from a 2006 model where they came standard.
