Fuck I bought xbone and probably only put 1-2 hours in the system. Don't think I've turned it on since buying it in jan.

If you route your cable/satellite box through the One then it acts as a full entertainment system.
You can search for shows/movies across all the various apps and cable, change channels (if you have kinect you can tell it to do so).... I don't play games at all but my Xbox runs everything.

Yes I've used it. It doesn't work well if you have an a/v receiver set up. I didn't care for the shitty TV guide when you use it like this.

Ah yes the guide is shit... I only use cable for ESPN; the rest is HULU and the on demand apps

Agreed the guide is garbage, but the convenience of having everything going through the xbox one and having so much control of everything through the xbox is actually really awesome. I don't know if I could go on with life without it after having it for so long lol

Seems like too much work for the xbox. Although completely different, the 360 inevitably would get the ring of death due to overuse/overheat. I tend to avoid over usage.

Like a computer the xbox one usually has several programs running at once. When you leave one app and enter another the other app is still operating and ready to pick up where you left off when you select the app again. I use my xbox one alot, like alot. I have never had an issue with it being 'too much work', never had an issue with having many programs going at once. I take advantage of these features all the time.
I also had an xbox 360 from day one and never had the ring of death sooo
