    Question Wheel locks

Is anyone using taper pro rotating collar bolts ?what are other members using to protect their wheels from theft. Is the size bolt I need 12x1.50 28mm?

I'm headed to studs and nuts. Project Kics nuts to be exact. 7 sided lugs and a security lug as well.

An interesting option; a google search found that Mackin Industries is the distributor. Who is the dealer that is carrying them?

Aside from the obvious issue of which height nut you need, the other question is whether the 20mm diameter if correct for us.

I wish they made a good locking open-end lug nut for studs...

Having 4 studs and one of those long closed-end locking units over a stud would look awful to me...

I see that they sell them in a set of 20, so I suppose all the nuts are replaced.
I too would prefer an open end lug nut...

    From the wheel spacer thread:

That 20mm diameter shoulder is going to be just fine.

I have used gorilla locks on most of my current/past BMWs, though had McGard originally and on the X3, think McGard makes or use to make the OEM ones. Good thing about the gorilla is you can get kits to have all the bolts be locks instead of 1 per wheel, and usually they have black or chrome versions.

Check out the Project Kic R26/R40 they are open ended and have a "locking" nut, but are sold in sets

I am using the R26 Project Kics, which are stated to be 22mm in width and open ended so height is whatever you prefer. The APEX nuts are 23.4mm in width, and my extended ECS spacer bolts show wear at 22.8mm and are clean after that up to 23.3mm or so. I am not concerned at all.
