    I believe it's the vanos unit. It's intermittent though. Going to order one sometime soon, it almost cost me a race this weekend with an srt8 charger. I was out on him about 2 cars, go into 4th and power wasn't there anymore. Barely edged him out to the agreed 120.

    And I don't think an N/A, stock cammed 328i has anything for your Accord. Unless it's completely gutted, s52 or after market cams, fbo/dyno tune and geared. But who knows, I could be wrong.

    I think he said its s52 swapped and tuned. That's the e36M motor, right? I had some good runs with a member on here in his s52/weight redux/3.46/bolt on m3. I pulled up top due to his short gearing. That was before my gears and tune.

    Ahh ok didn't see the s52 part for some reason. Might be a good run lol. Was it Bobby in the silver e36 M3 possibly? What speed would you say you pulled at? I might be making a gearing change myself, but no top end would kill where my car usually shines.

    As for your Accord buddy, he disappeared. Haven't seen the white j swapped accord out either since the last time I raced him.

    S52 , completely gutted in back and trunk, stock heavy ass seats, 4.0 to 3.5" 45 degree silicone intake in an AFE heat shield to 803 maf, m50 mani, 24# injectors, tuned, stock 2.93 open diff. Getting a riot BBTB and their regrind cams in about a month. Im honestly surprised at the cars i kept up with even before i had the 3.5" intake and tune. I kept up with one of my boys 01 ss camaro when i had the an afe intake, stock maf, and a factory tuned 2.8 computer running the 3.2 with 24# and m50 mani. It was bad news waiting to happen lmao but i let my younger mindset get the best of me when my friend said "excuses excuses" after explaining i didnt want to run past 4k on that dme. Now im just waiting to get in this new vanos and secondary tensioner from Dr.V. OPN backed off last summer and caused a whole mess of issues that i had to deal with over the winter

    I will tell him to contact you. I know you guys are pretty far away, though. He is J32 swapped now.

    Cool man. I am getting married in 2 weeks so I won't be available until the very end of April. I get weary doing runs, but we will see how it goes, Idk if you have a spot by you? I am full weight/full bolt on/3.94s/street tune.

    I have a few spots in mind, but i haven't been to them to make a pass since last summer. i have to scope them out over the next few weeks and narrow it down just to be safe.

    Any pics/vids of your car? I have a friend with an obd1 s52 setup that's almost identical, he's curious as to how the car does against other comparable competition

    Just getting the car back on the road tomorrow so i Have to break in the new clutch a little bit then ill get some videos up for you with one of my friends GoPro's. I figure i can clock 3-400 miles by the middle of next week, then ill change my oil and go fishing 8) .. For the 10 miles i clocked earlier, it felt stronger than ever so I'm hoping to get some runs in and see how it does ASAP .

    Had a similar outcome about a year ago, all I had at the time was 3.23 diff, m50 mani, catback, no tune w/ minor weight reduction. At the same time mines a bit of a factory freak, I walk FBO e36's and lose by less than 1 length (40-110) against my buddies e46 M3 with exhaust & intake (not sure of other mods).

    My shifting? Lol I'm guessing so since I hit limiter and they didn't. Very rare that I do hit limiter or miss a gear. But hey, it happens

    Ahh ok. What were your other kills? A win vs other e36's and a loss vs an e46 M3? My e36 has taken out a couple e46 M3's and e39 M5's, and needless to say any other e36 M3 that I've faced that wasn't turbo lol.

    FBO 350z base, stage 2 wrx, stockish 335's, a 996 Carrera vert, 1.8T big turbo (idk other mods), stage 2 b5 s4, b6 & b7 s4's with intake/exhaust/tune, ummmm I was mirror to mirror with an Evo X, mirror to mirror with a newish Camaro SS (I think it was auto), there are more but I don't recall all of them.

    Yep, good kills! Sounds exactly like my car 2 mods and a dyno tune ago, was so much easier to get races back then lol.

    Your NA E36 has a tough time getting races ? I've never been in a planned race, they just happen cruising from point A to point 2.

    Well when I'm beating cars I shouldn't, it's hard to find a fair race I should say. Don't wanna run an FBO coyote mustang cuz that's out of my league, but cars that I should race like a close to stock e9x M3's and such I've had a hard time getting to line up with me lol.

    Nope. But down here neither are they. Idk if its the weather, elevation, or whatever, but they seem to run slower than the usual high 12's at 110ish. The fastest one I've seen here so far went 13.4 and trapped 107ish with a 2.0 60ft , which is well within my parameters for a great race.

    Some pretty good runs in there. Seems to be faster than a normal E36.
