tpm malfunction

I recently bought a 2011 bmw x3. The dealership had to re0lace the battery and didn't program it. I took it to a bmw dealership and they took care of it. This week I started getting a tpm malfunction message. Could this be related to the battery or does anyone know how to fix fix it.

Have you checked the tires?

Yes the tire pressure is exactly what it says it should be according to the door panel 32 psi

Did you reset the TPM in the iDrive?

I done the reset option on the idrive and drove it as it said to do but I still get the tpm malfunction. On the idrive the tires show gray on the display would that matter.
