It has been a while since I've been on here. It has been 2 years since I sold my 97 528 and i've been in mourning. Now it is time for a new ride!
I am between a 94 525i 5spd black 110,000 miles or a 2000 323i auto silver 165,000 miles
Both in excellent condition. I am leaning towards the 525 due to the fact I love the e34 style and it is of course manual tranny.
The 525i is also $1,000 less than the e46. The historic tags also intrigue me. I wanted to get a general consensus on here as well to help persuade me...
Thanks for all your thoughts. Either way means I will get back to the forums!! Can't wait!

Walk away from the e46. Early year models had massive issues with the rear subframe tearing, plus the 323i is slow as can be. I personally (both cars being in the same shape) would take the e34 in a heartbeat. Way less miles, no subframe issues, probably faster/sportier.
Having said that, drive them both and see if one leaves a bigger impression than the other.
Thanks spooner! That was my thoughts. Glad to hear it confirmed. I appreciate the info about the subframe. I was not aware of that flaw.

Get the E34. Why? because it's a manual, classic shape, lower miles, etc.
