    Castrol 10w60 M oil

    Hey everyone,
Im sure everyone is aware that BMW Castrol 10w60 M oil is getting replaced with Shell oil. I wanted to get some feedback from everyone and see which of these two is preferred? Our customers here prefer Castrol. We have pallets of this and I have a feeling it will sell out pretty fast. We sell it for $14.98 a litre only. 10% off when you buy them by the case. Cannot ship this at all because of hazmat issues. Just makes it too difficult. Local pickup only.

So please let me know what you guys prefer. That will be a big help to me. Thanks again everyone.

This might be a question that is better asked on the M specific boards. I am certain the folks over at M5 board would be interested in this.

If you don't mind me asking, where is Pleasanton?

Seems like a thinly veiled advertisement to me

And anyways, I dont think Castrol will stop making the oils used on these engines and ECS carries TWS 10w60 for $12 a liter and they do ship

Not clear from OP is BMW replacing Castrol 10W-60 with Shell?? Can you be more specific?

And to post #4...how in the world you got Castrol 10W-60 at the price of $5/l, was this some kind of fake replica??

BMW moved from Castrol as their oil supplier to Shell. People are up in arms about what this means for the old engines and I think thats stupid since I dont imagine Castrol stopping production of 10w60 TWS.

    Haha nope.

Some guy bought a E60 M, then sold it and had no use for the oil. He wanted like $8/liter but I told him I'd buy it all at $5 and he accepted.

All OEM with part #s It really brightens up the shelf in the garage

Just took delivery of six quarts of the gold stuff. I understand that Shell somehow got the contract to supply the replacement oil, which is to be a 0W-30?? Talk about confusing a mass of owners!

+1 I got my last batch at 12 bucks a liter, you should see how much it actually costs here in Germany, 26 euros a liter = 30 bucks a liter.

Even with an employee discount, I paid $13.18 US. No competition on this rock, so a liter is retailed at $14.98.

    .
I've got nearly a full case of it in my garage. It's Castrol, not shell. I have no use for it since I sold my M5. Let me know if anyone wants to buy it off me.

I think it's 8 quarts but I'd have to double check
