5HP30 Question for the experts.

Will foaming be caused and or be an issue if the height of the fluid is at the top of the drain hole as opposed to the bottom? Approximately 3/4 inches higher level?

I am designing and adding a fill tube.

Install any fill tube on the drain part for the 5hp30, you'll need that hole in the middle of the transmission pan for leveling of the fluid.

I think the consensus when this was discussed last time (about five years ago), was that the gearboxes don't actually need topping-up unless they leak - and then they should be repaired. When the fluid does need to be changed, so does the filter.

Adding a fill tube makes the filling and fluid leveling processes a little less messier.

Thx guys, I think all I need is the measurement from the bottom of the pan to the top of the fill hole and then I can calculate the height of the dipstick from the drain hole in order to get the height of the drainplug adapter I'm fabricating.
