    X5 4.8 reliability

    I have a warranty til 110k. I have 70k on it now. Should I feel ok about keeping this one? I really love it and would like to keep it for a long time. Any advise would be much appreciated!

    2007 BMW X5 E70 4.8i
    As soon as you start inexplicably losing oil, it's probably the timing case cover or a seal near the alternator. On my E70, it was both. I'm told all N62 engines suffer from those seals failing as they approach 100k. So get it checked thoroughly as soon as you get the warning to add a quart of oil.

    What year is your E70? My E70 has the N63 engine and I burn oil which I believe is just a problem with X5's in general.
