Hello Everyone
Would you purchase a brand new BMW 435i convertible or a 2012 BMW 650i convertible with about 25,000 miles only?
Which one would you pick and why.
Thanks
If I didnt know how to work on cars I'd get the 435i because it's warranty will last longer, unless you can get an extended warranty on the 650i, then again you could do that for the 435i too
But since I can work on cars I'd get the 650i because its more car.

650i you get more car and the depreciation has already set in. 435i you will take that high percentage depreciation hit, once the car leaves the lot.
Buy or lease a brand new one instead of 2-3 year old one. Pros and cons are obvious, but by ordering a new one, you could do a European Delivery and/or Performance Center delivery as well.
Since you ave 3 series listed as your current car, I would pick 4 series (smaller, more nimbler car). Also, if you don't mind a soft top, consider 2 series as well.
Also, I agree with the poster above, 650i is not that great when it comes to driving enjoyment.

I'm pretty sure he is comparing it with a 6 series. No need to be snide.
With that said... Personally, since OP already has a 3 series, I would get a 6 series, because it is a bigger, more luxurious GT of a car. No need to have two of the same car. I want each car in my stable to provide a totally different experience.

Based purely on looks, I would choose the 4 series, I think it looks pretty darn good. That isn't to say the 6 isn't too bad either, it is one of the first modern BMWs in my eyes that isn't flat out ugly.
From a purchasing perspective, I would be hard pressed to want to take the depreciation hit on a new car when a decently depreciated relatively new car is on the tables.
Current fleet:
1999 BMW e36 M3
1999 BMW e36 328is with rotary valve engine head
1999 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight
1990 Jeep Comanche Eliminator
1962 Austin Healey Sprite
I am pondering that exact same decision except they both would be new. After attending the Philadelphia Auto Show yesterday, I can honestly say that I prefer the looks of the 435 better. Also it is a hardtop convertible and has the same or more interior room than the 650. When you spec out a fully loaded 435i xdrive and a 650i xdrive, the 435 is about 74K and the 650 is 115K. For a 41K difference that makes you think.
2 completely different cars... Size, engine, trans, brakes, wheel sizes. Apples and oranges..?
